Over 40 different varieties of camellias propagated at Trewithen Nursery

Trewithen Nursery

With gardens stocked full of rare and beautiful plants, shrubs and trees, it is perhaps unsurprising that Trewithen Nursery has become one of the county's most popular places for discerning gardeners to buy their own botanical treasures. Established by former Head Gardener Michael Taylor in 1968, the nursery grows a range of about 1000 species - including more than 40 different varieties of camellias. Most of the plants are grown from Trewithen's own stock and all are renowned for their superb quality and attractiveness of price.

The plants are all container grown which means they can mostly be planted out all the year round; staff are always on hand to give advice. There are two points of sale for the Nursery. During the times when the garden is open the Plant Centre, sited by the garden entrance, has a full display of stock for sale. Outside the visitor season customers are welcomed to the nearby Nursery area itself and are encouraged to see behind the scenes where the plants are stored and brought on.

Trewithen Nursery also supply garden centres and landscape gardeners with their high quality range of plants, please call for full wholesale details.
