Da Bara in the Gardens open in October

As autumn settles into the garden, our 2026 garden season is drawing to a close.

Trewithen Gardens will close as usual at the end of September, with the last day of the season being 30th September. From 1st October, the Gardens will be closed to visitors while our gardening team turns their attention to the work that keeps Trewithen looking its best year after year. As usual, the permissive paths and driveway will also be closed from the 1st of October and the only access to Trewithen will be the car park, which visitors to Da Bara will still be welcome to use.

Da Bara Café stays open throughout October

While the Gardens close for the season, Da Bara in the Gardens will remain open throughout October, so you'll still be able to pop by for a coffee, breakfast, lunch, or cake and a catch up.

Da Bara opening times from 5th October

Monday: Closed
Tuesday – Sunday: 9am – 3pm.

Da Bara in the Gardens will then be closed for the winter from the 2nd November.

What happens in the Gardens over winter?

Although visitors won't be able to explore the Gardens during the winter months until we reopen on 1st March next year, there is plenty going on behind the scenes.

Autumn and winter are important in the gardening calendar, giving our team the opportunity to carry out essential seasonal work, catch up on 'winter jobs' and prepare for spring, all whilst continuing to care for the plants that make Trewithen special.

We'll look forward to welcoming you back to the Gardens when we reopen for the 2027 season.
