Accessibility

We welcome visitors with disabilities and work hard to make as much of Trewithen as accessible as we can.

If you’re visiting us with limited mobility, you’ll find disabled-friendly, level paths and toilets. Our team members are always happy to help or advise, so if you need any more information during your visit, just let us know.

Trewithen Gardens

The circular route around the gardens is paved with a light gravel top that allows wheelchair access. Most of the gardens (aside from the water gardens) are generally flat and accessible. Other areas of the gardens and landscape are open to the public, but as these are less formal, there is no footpath, and some routes are uneven. Benches are available around the gardens, although these are irregularly spaced.

An accessible unisex toilet can be found alongside the main toilets in the courtyard.

If you wouldn’t otherwise be able to visit without a carer or companion, we offer free companion or carer tickets.

Tea Shed

The Tea Shed floor is carpeted and accessible, and is well lit by lights and large windows.

Allergy information is available for all items on the menu. We’re happy to cater for specific dietary requirements if you let us know in advance (call 01726 883647).

Trewithen House

The guided tour of Trewithen House is based on the ground floor, and we can provide a small ramp up to the saloon entrance with advance notice. However, this is a historic and listed building, with the inherent restrictions this brings. For this reason, not all areas of the tour are fully accessible, including low-level lighting and uneven flooring.
