Plant of the Month, December

Camellia 'Yoimachi' brings winter delight to the garden in December. The pink flushed buds slowly open to reveal the pure white petals, still flushed with pink edges, and the bright yellow central mass of stamens. Very reliable, hardy here in Cornwall and despite looking fragile the flowers can handle the winter weather extremely well. Being a hybrid Camellia it only has it's genus name and hybrid name.
