Plant of the month for September

Schima khasiana. One of our "Champion trees" and truly stunning to behold. In the Theaceae family, related to Camellia. Poached-egg like flowers through September in to autumn. Large, glossy, evergreen leaves give the plant an almost "tropical" feel. Unusually it has ripe seed pods on the same branches as the flowers, the seed setting and developing throughout the year. A big tree not for the small garden.
