Plant of the Month for June 2025

Our Cornus kousa var.chinensis takes centre stage this month. At the heart of our new garden entrance this wonder specimen greets you on arrival. The new for 2025 garden entrance path starts at our Tea Shed café, meanders past our new allotment growing veg and fruit for the Tea Shed, and around to the Cornus. Here after admiring its beauty you choose to travel East (left) into the woodland garden or West (right) out in to the meadows and landscaped parkland.

The beauty of the plant with its weeping habit is at its peak when the bracts, not flowers but modified leaves, start pure white fading through pinks to green. The actual flowers are the ball like structure in the middle. (See photos)
